"I awoke this morning...

...with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and new." (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

One of my dearest pals sent me this article on friendship. Occasionally I meet people who seem utterly friendless, and I realize how fortunate I am to have healthy relationships with people who voluntarily put up with my many quirks. I am incredibly wealthy in friends...so wealthy I can't even begin to name them all here. So many folks have been important to me during different chapters of my life. My friend Nan made me giggle during church and tried to convince me that the youth group guy I had a crush on thought I was cute (thanks anyways Nan). My friends Sharla, Allison, Lisa W, Dannett and their husbands have shared their lives with us from the beginning of our marriages and into parenthood. Jodi is a "new" friend who's chilled-out, laid-back, and unafraid to share about her faith struggles. For the following women I am especially thankful: Lisa J, Paige, Kathryn, Mindy, Shannon, Ronda and Kristen. More on them later. Laundry calls.

We must just all have friendship on the brain this week. I posted about 'chosen family' earlier this week. Thank God for the people He sends to love us and put up with us!

jana,
read the link to the friendship article. And going along with the author's imagery---
I'm happy to claim you as a beloved pair of shoes in my closet.
(Girlfriend, you need some odor-eaters.)

JUST KIDDING!

Seriously, I loved the article.

I had to pause when the author explained that her single friend was NOT the one to talk hours about diaper rash.
Well, uh, I might be the exception to that rule.
Not sure if this is cool, or just plain funky....but I can talk baby rash with the best of 'em.

(and I can hold my own on topics such as snot, sippy cups, tantrums, and the DISadvantages to pull-ups.
Bring it on!)

love,
shannon linderman

Okay, so I hope you're doing amazingly wonderful things instead of blogging, but I admit that I'm missing your posts.

Take Care.
