best of the eighties

I seriously think one of the best songs of the '80s is the ballad "Is This Love?" by Whitesnake. Seriously. I just downloaded it off iTunes. I was never much into the big-hair bands but that song ROCKS!!!

"Ice Ice Baby," baby.

That was the song of the 90s.

Alright stop,
Collaborate and listen.
Ice is back with a brand new mission...

Of all the White Snake songs, I would have picked "Still of the Night" although it is completely a Led Zepplin rip-off.

What about "It Can Happen" by Yes from 90125 (1983) or "Owner of a Lonely Heart."

And these incredible songs from Rush in the '80s: "Spirit of the Radio", "Tom Sawyer", "Limelight", "Red Barchetta", or "Camera's Eye" (this last one might be my '80's pick) There could be a ton more from Rush in the '80s (see the album Signals).

The Rolling Stones: "Start Me Up" (1981)

One Night in Bangkok - randomly heard it three times in one night a couple of months ago.

You know what's sad? My college students like to have 80's parties. They visit vintage stores and buy authentic 80's clothing to dress up in.

JMG - Think they would mind if a 30-something mom crashed the shindig? Just tell me when and where...
